Preschool Director. The Preschool Director is responsible to plan, organize, coordinate, and control the services of the Christian preschool program, reflecting a biblical worldview and commitment to Christ. The director will exercise independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including the policies, procedures, and staff development and supervision. The director operates the program in conformance with institutional regulations, local and state day care licensing requirements. Overall responsibilities include the management and spiritual leadership of the preschool’s program, its staff, and its operation. The Preschool Director may also serve as a Lead Teacher to attain full-time hours.
Per the Arizona Department of Health Services (R9-5-401.1-7), Staff Qualifications-Director must be:
- At least 21 years of age and documentation of ONE of the following
- High school diploma or GED, with 60 hours of ECE training and an additional 12-hours training in program administration, planning, development or management, AND 24-months experience.
- Total of 24 college credits with 6 credits in ECE, AND 18-months experience.
- Associate degree in ECE/closely related field, AND 6-months experience
- High school diploma or GED, with 6 college credits in ECE, AND 24-months experience.
- Bachelor degree in ECE/closely related field, AND 3-months experience
- Successful clearance of child protective services background check.
- Fingerprint clearance.
Lead Teacher Preschool. The Lead Teacher will glorify God as a servant leader, teaching, training, modeling, and evaluating the children assigned. The teacher will implement sound early childhood educational practices, methods, and instruction in conformance with institutional regulations, local and state day care licensing requirements, and the Christ-centered educational philosophy of Wickenburg Christian Academy.
Per the Arizona Department of Health Services (R9-5-401.3.a.b.c.), Staff Qualifications-Teacher must be:
- At least 18-years of age and documentation of ONE of the following:
- 6 months experience AND a high school diploma or GED or at least 12 credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field
- Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
- Successful clearance of child protective services background check.
- Fingerprint clearance.

WCA is a flourishing ministry located 60 miles northwest of Phoenix in a small rural town with Western roots (learn more at www.outwickenburgway.org). Established in 1983, the school has offered grades K-8 for nearly forty years, adding a preschool program in 2005 and the High School program in 2011, offering a comprehensive four-year program for grades 9-12. Campus wide enrollment is approximately 200 students, from Preschool through High School.
